ABOUT ME
I grew up in Iowa City, Iowa, and have steadily made my way East—I attended college in Rock Island, Illinois, and attended graduate school in Athens, Ohio where I received my PhD. Now, I reside in Chattanooga, TN, where I am a Lecturer at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I develop and teach several courses in psychology, maintain an active research program involving undergraduate students, and enjoy mentoring and advising students about diverse career paths in psychology.

When I'm not busy with work, I enjoy...

Exploring the Outdoors
I love being outside, whether I'm hiking, swimming, running, or going for a bike ride. I have particularly enjoyed exploring the hiking trails in the Chattanooga area. Usually, I'm usually accompanied by my dog, Lilah (featured in picture).

Music
I have been involved with music most of my life. I sang in various choirs and ensembles up through college, and most recently, was a member of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra Chorus during graduate school. I am looking into opportunities to continue choral singing in the Chattanooga area. I'm also an avid concert-goer!

Cooking
Food is one of my favorite things! I enjoy finding new recipes. I try and challenge myself to make new meals from leftovers, and to create plant-based options. Usually, I'm cooking for friends.

Community Service
One thing I really value is being part of the local community. In Athens, OH, I am involved (now, remotely) as one of the coordinators for Ohio Brew Week. I have experience volunteering at a rape crisis center, and welcome the opportunity to continue this kind of service.
