RESEARCH INTERESTS

Although my research interests are many and varied, broadly,  my research centers on outgroup perceptions, with a focus on threat, stereotyping, and identity. I investigate applications of these topics across two broad domains: diversity psychology and mental health.

In regards  to diversity psychology, I explore people's perceptions of and reactions to diverse social identities (primarily, race/ethnicity and gender) and their various downstream consequences. As for mental health, I apply theories of stereotyping to the mental health domain in efforts to understand social factors influencing mental health treatment-seeking among the general public.
